Whitworth Civic Hall Junior Show

Congratulations to all the juniors who took part in Spartans Junior Interclub and Show at Whitworth Civic Hall on Sunday. I was very proud of them all and here is a short review of all their bouts.

Sam Humphries (fight 3×1.5mins) Sam won on points against a very tough aggresive opponent, he kept calm and skilfully out pointed his opponent.

Thomas Hunphries (fight 3×1.5mins) Thomas won on points and after a nervous start dominated the last 2 rounds with strong leg kicks and punches.

James Pierce (fight 3×1.5mins) James won on points, another excellent fight with both fighters showing fantastic skill with James slightly looking the stronger although the decision could have gone either way.

Chicara Gerrard (fight 3×1.5mins) Chicara lost on points against a very strong boy! She struggled in the first round but refused to give in and showed great courage.

Charlotte Bailey (interclub 3×1.5mins) Charlotte performed brilliantly against a girl 7kg heavier, landing strong body kicks and punches she proved that she is ready to fight. Watch this space!

Charlie Leather (interclub 3×1.5mins) Charlie managed to get someone his own age and weight (he usually ends up with boys 2-4yrs older). A strong confident performance with great push kicks and timing.

LJ (interclub 3×1.5mins) LJ’s not been in the ring for a while and it took him a round to settle. He performed really well landing strong body shots and left leg kicks and showed he’s back.

Conor Burdett (interclub 3×1.5mins) Conor’s opponent pulled out so was rematched with an adult fighter! His performance was fantastic, calm and skilful he proved he is ready to fight on a bigger show. Watch out for him in May in Sheffield!
