Snowdon 2nd Sept 2012

As promised in July the Wicker Camp UK 3 Peaks Team returned to conquer Mount Snowdon. It was a perfect day not too warm and dry. We walked the same route up the Miners Track and then onto the very steep Pyg Track, it looked so different in good weather and with clear sky. It was a steep and hard climb in places, very rocky and extremely difficult to keep to the path. We were all determined to reach the summit which we found in the clouds. The sun came out in the afternoon for the descent and the views of the surrounding landscape was breath taking which helped take your mind off the knee pain!! I took us 4hrs 10mins in total (Michal Woroniak’s time was 2hrs 50mins he just couldn’t keep to our pace) and we were all very pleased that we had finished.

Many thanks once again to all the people who supported us in this challenge and my most sincere appreciation to those who climbed with me, helping me get so close to my fundraising target and for putting up with my moaning, as I’ve discovered I’m not a natural climber/walker.  Trix

Only 8 weeks to my final challenge of cyclng from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam to Siem Reap in Cambodia so I’ve swapped my walking shoes for cycling shorts (not a pretty site!) and you may see me out and about 🙂
