Group Grading 29.01.2023
The unscheduled group grading is for students who were due to grade in December 2022.
Please make sure your name is down by Sunday 22nd January. Times will be posted Wednesday 25th January online and on reception.
Irish Open Championships 3-6th Feb
Unfortunately this event has been cancelled by the Irish Federation. Our juniors are disappointed but there are other events coming up very soon.
We would like to thank you for all your kind and generous donations. The money raised for this particular event was £628.66.
This amount will be put towards the next International event. Roo March-Mullaney and Franky Sandor have been selected for the GB squad to fight and represent the UK in the IFMA European Championships in Turkey at the end of February (The cost per athlete is £1,500).
This was not expected as they are not terribly experienced but on their performances in Poland (Roo won the gold medal and Franky had a great semi final fight and lost on points) and in the UK squad training sessions they have been given the opportunity………and what an experience to have moving forward.
These international events are self funded so we will be doing a few fundraising events over the next 5 weeks to meet the target (we have covered the cost of one athlete so far👍).
12hour PADWORK challenge 12.02.23
Darren Castledine (best padman in the gym😊) is doing a 12 hour fundraising padwork challenge on Sunday 12th February 2023.
Students are invited to book in for as many rounds of padwork as they wish at a minimum of £3 per round. You can also just donate without doing any padwork. There will be a booking sheet available on reception, any gaps we don’t fill will be done by Roo and Franky.
Team Sparring Event 17.02.23
We will be running a fundraising Team Sparring event on Friday 17th February 2023. All graded students are invited to participate and you can put your name down on the list on reception. The cost will be £6 to enter and the same to spectate. All participants will receive a medal (and a black eye😂)…..joking!!
