Rising Stars Show

Yesterday was a special day; our Rising Stars Show was a tremendous success. Wicker Camp had 8 wins and 1 loss, all 17 bouts were well matched and the standard for novice fighters was very high. Additionally Wicker Camp received a very special award.

The award is from the United Kingdom Muay Thai Awards run by Kru Raf Hussain from Birmingham. The award was presented to us by Riaz Akhtar and Yaseen Mohammed from Camp 313. It is for our lifelong contribution and as one of the pioneers of Muay Thai in the UK

We want to accept this award on behalf of our wonderful team of instructors and staff who have remained so loyal over the many years and who work so hard to maintain the high standards in Muay Thai and create the inclusive ethos we pride ourselves on at Wicker Camp.

Stefan Hawcroft

Stefan is a friend of one of our students; he is a fireman and recently was married. He has just been diagnosed with a rare brain cancer and has been given only weeks to live. The NHS have exhausted all treatment and his family are now trying to raise money for pioneering treatment in Germany. We collected £240.98 at the show on Sunday and here is his fundraising page if you would like to donate.
