The Tower Ballroom is a great venue and has seen many Wicker Camp fighters compete over the last 20 years including Trix March, Ismael Abdi, Paul Carnall, Thomas Mc Cormick, Darren Castledine, Mehdi Firoozi.

This time it’s the turn of our novices: Jamie Woodward, Lindy Hush, Rob Carter, Rachel Crosby, Danny Jordan, Dave Childs, Michal Woroniak, Kristian Bainbridge, Andy Goodrick, Gavin Duce, Tom Wilkinson.

Come and support them it will be a great night out. Tickets will be available from reception or the fighters and are £25. We are planning to put a coach on (£8.50 return) but this depends on numbers.

Junior Interclub and Show Birmingham

Yogi Parek (Black Widows) is promoting a Junior Thai Boxing Interclub and Show in Birmingham on Sunday 5th July. Wicker Camp have a team of junior students some competing in the interclub and some fighting on the show.

The following students are competing in the interclub: Alex Miles, Charlotte Bailey, Christopher Chung, Ayam Mohammed

The following students will be fighting: James Pierce, Charlie Leather, Thomas Humphries, Sam Humphries, Connor Burdett, Matthew Brown

Thomas McCormick (Wicker Camp) vs Michael Blood (Rob Mitchell) - this is an ISKA 66kg British Title fight over 5 rounds. After winning his elimination fight at the Octagon in April Thomas is looking to bring home yet another British title for Wicker Camp and assert himself as a real force to be reckoned with in British Muaythai.

World Championship Thai Boxing – Octagon 29th March 2009

We will holding another World class event at the Octagon Centre on Sunday 29th March starting at 1pm.

Top of the bill is Helene Garnett - fighting for a World Title against the French champion, Mehdi Firoozi is fighting for a Commonwealth Title against Shaun Lomas and Thomas McCormick is fighting for an Eliminator for a British Title. We are also showcasing some of Wicker Camp’s up and coming fighters - Jamie Shepherd, James Ogden, Jamie Woodward, Lewis Hill and juniors Jaz Meates and James Pierce.

Wolverhampton Show 30th November

The promoter has cancelled this show with 3 days to go!!

This is a massive disappointment to both our fighters Helene Garnett (due to fight for a World Title on this show) and Haji Imran Khan (due to fight the French Champion). Both fighters trained hard for these fights and it’s a real shame when fighters have to be let down at the last minute. Helene is really devastated as this World Title meant so much to her, she is in the best shape of her career and looks unbeatable at the moment and she has sacrificed so much to get there.

Our hearts go out to them both and we look forward to seeing them fight on our show at the Octagon Centre in Sheffield on the 29th March 2009.

BIG fights – Wolverhampton & London 30th Nov

Wolverhampton Civic Hall 30th November 2008.

Haji Imran Khan will be fighting for his 3rd World Title on this show. The ISKA World Title belt is currently held by Rung who Imran has fought and defeated once before. This will be an important fight for Imran as the winner will represent the UK in a World Championship Event in Cambodia next year. Imran has started his training and is really looking forward to fighting Rung again. Good Luck Imran

Helene Garnett European Champion is also fighting for a World Title on this show. She will be fighting a Dutch girl who are renowned for their tough aggressive style. Helene has wanted this opportunity for a long time and is training very hard and we are very confident that she will become World Champion. Good Luck Helene.

London

On the same evening in London Daniel Hudson (World Champion) will be competing in a big eliminator show to decide who will represent the UK for the 2009 Contender TV Show. Daniel is the most under rated fighter in the UK and has an excellent chance of winning this event. He is training hard and looking awesome already. Good Luck Dan

Three big shows are coming up over the next couple of months featuring Wicker Camp fighters.

On Saturday 18th October in Manchester our English Champion and upcoming star Dave Kantor fights. On the same day in Leeds we have Thomas McCormick English Champion, Mehdi Firoozi 2x British Champion and Daniel Hudson World Champion.

There will be a coach to the Leeds show so keep your eyes on reception for information.

The next show to feature Wicker Camp fighters is at Wolverhampton Civic Hall on Sunday 11th November. This show promises to be a sell out featuring some of the best fighters in the UK.

At last our very own 2x World Champion Imran Khan will face World Champion Richard Caddon in a long awaited bout. Imran is really looking forward to this fight and promises a spectacular performance.

English Champion Thomas McCormick will also fight on this show; he was due to fight in Coventry but unfortunately his opponent pulled out at the last minute. This will be his first Full Thai Rules fight.
