Sheffield – The gym supports Sheffield Rough Sleepers Services by collecting food and clothes, we collect clothes and children’s toys for Bluebell Wood and also collect women’s clothes for SWWOP.  These items are delivered every month to the respective charities.

Thailand – The gym currently sponsors a young girl in Northern Thailand through the charity Plan International. This involves monthly financial contributions to help support the child and her family through education and health initiatives within the local community. There is an information pack in reception that outlines who, where and how the sponsorship programme works.

We will encourage our juniors to write and send information to LaOrngdao who is 8 years old and in return she will send pictures back and in time when she can write hopefully letters. Girls are often not given the same opportunities than boys and are often expected to stay at home and look after the house and tend to the family land it is this reason we chose to sponsor a girl rather than a boy.

Cambodia – Trix supports a local charity near Siem Reap called Smiles of Angkor Childrens Village. She was introduced to Kim who is a teacher and guide whilst on her charity bike ride from Vietnam to Cambodia in 2012. He works effortlessly to provide education for children in the poorest of areas around Siem Reap. From a very poor background himself he and his wife are committed to building schools and providing them with safe clean drinking water, food and educational resources. Trix has donated more than £3,000.00 to date which has helped to dig new water holes and towers, provide bikes for children who have to walk over 5 miles each way to school and help with buying second hand PCs and books.

Dear Smile of Angkor Friends,

As 2015 comes to a close, we are gratefully reflecting this past year and making plans for the upcoming one. As we are wrapping up the year 2015, we would like to update an overview of our work on supporting disadvantaged and less fortunate Cambodian children. In eight years we’ve grown from one school with 287 students to supporting nine schools with 3253 students grades from primary to high school.

From the bottom of my heart, I deeply thank you for making it possible for the children we work with to realize their dreams, and ask that you consider investing in our work in 2016 to bring important needs for children such as clean drinking water and classrooms. Your actions are creating real change. We couldn’t have done without you!

Finally, I want to thank you on behalf of 3253 children who have benefited from our programs and I am wishing you and your wonderful family a very happy year of 2016!

Warmest regards,

Kimthol Yoeun- Project Founder
