Roo's quarter final was an excellent start to the event for the GB team. Dominating the first two rounds with fast strong all round attacks and cutting his opponents nose open with a strong elbow to win by TKO in the 2nd. This win put him into the semi final later in the day.

Riley's quarter final was a good well matched fight. He lost the first round but came back and won the second, the third was a close call but we thought he'd worked hard enough to gain the win but lost on points.

Roman's semi final fight was another good well matched contest. Both fighters engaged well and it was close. His opponent just out pointed him in each round and had the higher work rate so a good learning fight for Roman.

Franky's quarter final was another tough fight. He stepped up a weight class so not his usual category. He had a good start and won the first with a fast accurate and busy work rate. The second was close which he possibly lost but came back in the third to win on points putting him into the semi final later in the day.

Roo's second fight of the day was the semi final contest and was another fast and furious display of strong techniques favouring the punches and elbows. Another strong win by TKO in the 3rd.

This fight put Roo into the final tomorrow; however after really struggling to make the weight yesterday and then fighting twice today afterwards he was very depleted and exhausted and experiencing pains in his head. I believed he would not be able to refuel adequately and then cut weight again for the morning weigh in so I decided to withdraw him from the competition and final bout tomorrow. It would be dangerous and irresponsible and the safety of my fighters is paramount at all times.

Harry's semi final was a tough fight. New to the format of the IFMA style Harry struggled with his work rate. He had moments of good scoring but overall just didn't work hard enough and lost on points.

Franky's semi final fight was tough. His opponent was visibly stronger and more mature and worked well. Franky did great and gave him a good fight but just not strong enough and lost on points.

Excellent experience for the team, a good high standard and very well organised and delivered by the Polish Muay Thai Federation.

Thank you to Chilli, second coach and cornerman for me, his lovely wife Summa who is totally organised and an asset to any group trip AND finally to my fighters who I am very proud of. Regardless of the outcome they always work hard in training and it's a pleasure to coach them and watch them grow from experiences like today.

Love you all🥰

Look out for next weeks results when I come back to Poland with our junior fighters Adnan, Yusuf and Daniel who are all competing in the Junior Polish Open Championships.
