WOW WOW WOW what an amazing night!!!
It was a long busy day, 12 hours, 9 fighters and a lot of stairs!!! My old knees and back are feeling it this morning.
I was too busy all day to process what was happening, wrapping the fighters hands, making sure they were massaged, warmed up and well prepared for their fight it didn't really sink in until I got home about 1am how special the evening was. My heart was filled and bursting with pride, I literally cried on the way home.
This morning I am still completely overwhelmed with joy and pride for each and every one of my fighters.
They all surpassed themselves, performing to the best of their ability showing courage, discipline and great fighting heart.
Seven wins including 3 English Titles one draw and one loss.
Yusuf Ahmed won on points against a taller opponent. Lovely footwork and workrate.
Michael George first fight won by TKO in the 3rd round with relentless attacks and a very high workrate.
Zubair Faqiri his 3rd fight won on points with a good solid performance especially in the clinch improving all the time.
Zane Polin his 2nd fight got a draw. Zane used great footwork and scored really well with his kicks but was out pointed by his opponent who favoured his hands.
Leon Samuels fought at a heavier weight than usual (69 as opposed to 66kg) and with that in mind he performed very well using great skill and footwork but his opponent was too strong for him and he just lost on points. You also have to respect Leon as he's still training hard and getting in there at 38yrs old 👏🏼👏🏼
Roman Carnall fought for the English Title and proved he is a lot tougher than he looks and a force to be reckoned with winning by TKO in the 3rd round.
Riley Carnall fought for the English Title against a naturally heavier fighter more experienced and very skilful opponent and it turned out to be the fight of the night. Riley showed determination, pure heart and exceptional discipline winning on points.
Arkan Hussain fought for the English Title in this rematch from April. A well matched close fight with Arkan winning on points. Arkan has had a few bad decisions so I can't think of anyone more deserving.
Roo MarchMullaney fought the Italian in a crazy K1 rules set. Roo was forced into taking this fight under these rules and after a playful entrance and beautifully executed Ram Muay (to show his heart belongs to Muay Thai) he showed that he doesn't have to move to win and when he's pissed off he can stand and fight too.
THANK YOU to my amazing corner team Chilli and Harry who worked very hard, my 3 amigos, to all the WickerCamp supporters both there and online, to all our opponents and their teams, the officials, the event staff, Amreen and Hamdi (the promoter) for all the hard work they have put into delivering a great show.
