Legacy The Art of War
So whilst coaching the beginners sparring class last night I get a call at 7.30pm "the night before the show" from the promoter to say the Italian fighter who's here to fight Roo (the main event) doesn't want to fight A class Muay Thai rules against him!!!
The fight has been arranged, confirmed and agreed on for two months!!!
They decided this once they arrived in the UK!!!!..... just changed their mind and said we won't fight elbows or clinch......
Really???
Where do you go from there?
TIt was made clear the fight would not go ahead unless we made some concessions on the rule set!!!. Totally unprofessional, unfair, disappointing and frustrating.
Roo is a Muay Thai fighter, lives, breathes and sleeps it, so the decision to fight under K1 rules is disappointing to say the least and wasn't an easy one to make. It's all experience but not quite the experience we agreed on and trained for.
Roo has never fought K1 before and would never consider doing so but in order to fight today and after much consideration as a team Roo decided to take the match.
Good luck Roo. Xx
