This was Zubairs first fight. It was matched at 69kg which is heavier than we wanted but it was the only one they had.
It was a very good performance and he used his footwork very well and had a higher work rate than his opponent scoring well with his leg and body kicks. He dominated the fight in all three rounds and won on points.
Franky fought K1 because we couldn't get him a Muay Thai match; a decision I regret. The style was too fast and messy to control and with the limited clinch he just didn't get started. He got caught with a spinning side kick in the first round and could not continue. It was a banging kick perfectly timed and executed and no one would've got up from that.
We will never fight K1 again as it definitely doesn't suit our Muay Thai style.
Roman fought N class ProAm so with elbow pads. He had an excellent performance scoring with his long punches and long kicks and used his elbows very well in the clinch. Winning the first two rounds he stopped his opponent in the 3rd with knees and elbows.
Riley had a tough fight against a very good opponent. He won the first round scoring well in the clinch but his opponent changed gear from the third round dominating the clinch and was sharper and more accurate with his techniques and defence. A good learning fight for Riley one which he will grow from.
Thank you to our supporters, to my corner team Roo and Harry and to Yogi for the great hospitality and opportunity.
